How does orbitz and expedia get airline flight info? Do they have to pay for this information? ?
I would like to start a site like orbitz and travelocity. I just don’t know how to retrieve flight and booking info. Is this information that I would have to pay for? There are lots of sites that allow one to search for tickets and such, so I would imagine its free. Any help on how to get started would be appreciated!
You cant just start a website to sell travel. You must have some sort of a travel sellers id such as ARC (what is needed to sell airline tickets and ticket) The sites you mentioned ticket their tickets so they are signed up with the airlines to be able to do this. There are several other sellers id you can be affiliated with CLIA cruise line international association, TRUE this is a sellers id that is used for those that are not affiliated with any of the others. This number is issued through IATA, but it does not give you the perks that IATAN does. There are a lot of different options and each have differeant requirements.
You also have to register with your state depending on what state you live in. There are a few that require a seller of travel license. There are also a few states you have to regisiter seperately like FL and CA so that you
