discount cheap airfare

How do I find the cheapest airfare from LAX to STL?
I've been looking for a religion for flights from LAX (or Airports around like Santa Ana, Long Beach, Ontario) and STL, but they are extremely expensive. It is always like going to San Luis: (I want to leave either after 5pm 2 July or before 8am on July 3. Red eye flights be fantastic too! I really need to be in St. Louis before 3pm if possible. I would return in the afternoon July 5, between 6-10pm. 2 passengers, both adults, cheaper deals or discounts available. What can you find? : D
and the first want to do when looking for a cheap rate is to use flexible dates and times that are already broken. 2 of you should try to travel on Mondays and Tuesdays are the cheapest days to fly off on weekends. Websites use as expedia.com to find cheap flights and then when you find a cheap flight go to the real website of the companies carriers to save urself an extra 8.15 dollars. it doesn't help that travels about 4 July or weekend
