When will air fares begin rising significantly on long haul flights?
Such as Australia, Brasil, etc…I hear they might not until next year, anyone know when prices are set to go up by a lot?
Also is it true airlines will be cutting prices in desperation to sell seats?
I don’t think airlines are cutting prices to sell seats right now. They are cutting capacity because the price of fuel is so high. Therefore with fewer flights, more passengers are on-board each flight.
As for significant fare increases, I have not heard anything about that. However the price of fuel will play a role in determining how much airfare will be. Some say that ticket prices should drop a little by next year since the price of oil has come down a bit.
