airfare

airfare????????
i know that this isnt the place for this question, but there are more people here…..i havent flown in years, and i was wondering how to get the cheapest ticket possible?
There are a lot of discount web sites out there (priceline, orbitz, hotwire, travelocity, cheaptickets just to name a few) but especially in the summertime, you can get the same prices right on the airline’s web site. Maybe even a couple dollars less.
My favorite discount ticket search site is sidestep.com because that site will scan all of the major reseller sites and show you your results in one window.
I will say, though, buying from a reseller such as the ones menitoned above may have some downsides so if the fare difference is close, think it over. The resellers usually only get the less-desirable seats in the coach section to sell… this is over the wing (no view), behind the exit row (less leg room), next to the bathroom (traffic and smell), seats that do not recline all the way, etc. If you are taking a short flight that may not be an issue but if you are on a longer flight, it may be worth $20 to NOT have to sit next to the bathroom.
