Honeymoon $ 1000 – anyone have suggestions for a location in which this budget will be enough?

After we paid for our wedding only have about $ 1000 left to take our honeymoon. This rules out virtually flying to the Caribbean … but that's OK with us. We considering the Florida or Myrtle Beach? Or maybe Niagara Falls? We live in Michigan and we would save money by driving (between cost of plane tickets and a rental car when we get there). But – I do not want to be in the car more than it should be. Our wedding is in mid-September. We just want to find a relaxing place. It need not be in the ocean, you do not have palm trees (Nice as a scenario like that may be). It just seems like the most tourism and a place, higher prices are to spend time there. If anyone has a suggestion that is "off the beaten path", which maintain low I appreciate it costs! Any suggestions? Oh and by the way – no cruise ships. My boyfriend is afraid to board a ship. We must stay on land, lol!

Summer last went to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and it was great. The hotel was not expensive at all less than 200/night and the food was fresh and delicious salmon sandwich smoked was $ 6. We were in the farmer's market, and visited different cities, had a pizza night. I've been to Myrtle Beach also, and large, more Tourist and face, Martha's Vineyard was very romantic and picturesque.
