air travel with toddlers
Any advice for air travel with a toddler?
Taking a 9-hour flight to Hawaii (change of planes in 1 / 2 way through) this April within 18 months of age, and it worries me to keep busy, or at least only prevented him from screaming his head because he can not run and get into everything!
Children tend to take flies very well. Bring books, a handheld system, crayons, paper, and other small toys that go to take his son. Take it to the store to pick up a couple of small things that will be his "special travel toys" you can not use until the aircraft is in the air. Try to get a window seat for him, so you can see all the houses and cars below. Ask him to be elected to the ships, and cows, making it a treasure hunt for him. I Spy is the best game for young children. Bring earplugs and / or a sippy cup to help with their ears pop during takeoff and landing. Carry medications chews motion sickness, and a change of clothes with towels. Bring Tylenol if sick. I flew from Maine to Tampa w / one of that age. He took it so well that surprised me. If you can, try to get the evening flight, thus is more likely to be tired, and calmer, and sleep during the flight.
