venezuela airfare
How much money do I have (U.S.) to backpack across South America for 6 months?
I plan to leave in April / May '09. My provisional * * Plan is to fly to Buenos Aires, traverse Patagonia Chile, north by Peru, through Colombia, Venezuela, to the east in the Amazon, south through the region off the coast of Brazil before the end of Carnival in Rio until almost out of $.
I'm thinking, according to Lonely Planet and some research Internet, which can be fined $ 20 – $ 25 per day. Considering 200 days about 6 months, which is 4-5K. Should be enough, after paying my fare?
Yes you can get by on that, just returned from 6 months in South America and less than that. But keep in mind that all depends on what you do and where you go. Brazil is expensive, you will go over budget there. . . and during carnival time you will spend a minimum of $ 150 per day. Chile is a bit too expensive. But in Peru, Colombia and Venezuela, you can get by for less than that.
